Andrea Bartolucci
Andrea Bartolucci was born in Marina di Pietrasanta, in Versilia where he lives and works. His work is based on the idea that “it doesn’t matter what you see, but the extraordinary diversity which you see it” thou explaining his purpose to give his own personal interpretation and not to document while working.
After the first years dedicated to portrait and sea landscape (“DONNE”, 1990; “IL MARE”, 1992), he began a careful research on the history and landscape of industrial archeology and realized: "I MURI DELLA MEMORIA", 1995 for the Municipality of Cremona; "LE PIETRE DIMENTICATE", 1997 (Pacini Editore Pisa), "LA PORTA SUL BUIO", 1999 (Petrartedizioni, Pietrasanta), "III MILLENNIUM" 2001, on behalf of the COMUNITA Montana Alta Versilia, "L ' ALBERO DELL’ORO" 2001, preface by Luigi Veronelli on behalf of the Municipality of Camaiore and the Province of Lucca, with exhibitions in 2002 in California, San Francisco at the Museo Italo-Americano and in Fremont, with the support of the Region of Tuscany; the official poster of Carrara Marble Fair in the year 2004; "ARCHITETTURE DI LUCE - ANDREA BARTOLUCCI INTERPRETA STUDIO LAPIS” 2006 (Petrartedizioni, Pietrasanta), exhibited in Pietrasanta and in Paris at the Italian Chamber of Commerce for France, "GLI OPIFICI DELLA VANITA", 2007 (Pacini Editore Pisa), a photographic research on the leather district of Pisa; “ARTEPESTA – The history of Viareggio’s Carnival" 2011 (Pacini Editore Pisa), “LE STANZE DEL CIELO – SULLE TRACE DI MICHELANGELO/ ROOMS OF THE SKY-ON MICHELANGELO'S TRACES ", 2012 (Bandecchi & Vivaldi Publishers) preface and images selection by Edoardo Testori (international critic of modern and contemporary art who has developed numerous collaborations with the most prestigious institutions in the field of the arts, such as the MOMA in New York, the Louvre Museum, the Fine Art Gallery in London - for more information www.testoriart.it)
Concerning contemporary art, from 2007 to 2010 he produced the series “REALTA’ SURREALE” unique pieces in which the photographic image is contaminated with element of Arte Povera using recycled materials such as wood, metal, cardboard, acrylic crystal. He has successfully participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions, always arousing interest in the local and national press as well as in the specialized ones (among others: Photographies Magazine Italian edition, Progresso Fotografico, Zoom, ExVinis by Luigi Veronelli, Il Corriere della Sera , I Viaggi di Repubblica, the magazine of the CAI, San Francisco Chronicle, The ItaloAmericano USA-CAN, France-Italie, Orione Arte & Cultura, Ricerche Storiche, Mondo Padano,, Freedom, La Nazione, Il Tirreno, Officine Versilia, MTV Italia, RAI 3, Noi TV, ReteVersilia, TeleRiviera, RMS). His photos are placed in public and private areas both in Italy and abroad.
