"Seravezza Fotografia" will be held in Seravezza in Versilia (Lucca) from March 23rd to June 9th , 2013. The event, organized by Fondazione Terre Medicee, by the Culture Department of the City of Seravezza, under the patronage of FIAF (Italian Federation of Photographic Associations) and the artistic direction of Ivo Balderi, was presented this morning at Palazzo Mediceo.
Among the novelties of this year, illustrated by Ivo Balderi, the website www.seravezzafotografia.it created by Artemysia Communication. This is a site with sections devoted to all ten editions of the event which saw the presentation in Seravezza of big international photographers, as Walter Rosenblum, John Gardin, Joel Peter Witkin, Erwin Olaf, James Nachtwey. The website is linked to the pages dedicated to the event on main social networks and opened to media. Indeed, it is possible for example to access the video from its homepage dedicated to the main photographer of the show for this year, Bart Herremann. For the Department of Culture of the Municipality of Seravezza Seravezza Riccardo Biagi, Seravezza Fotografia is an event that, thanks to its formula that combines the great pictures of the main protagonist of the exhibition, the world of amateurs and enthusiasts with courses, workshops and portfolio reading , brings to Seravezza a large audience.
This will be even enlarged this year with the postponement of the event in spring time. The mayor of Seravezza and president of the Fondazione Terre Medicee Ettore Neri, points out that this year edition is featured by the strong involvement of young people in the event. The youngs of the Istituto Comprensivo di Seravezza will present their pictures in one of the exhibitions at the Scuderie Granducali and many of the events in the educational program will take place at the Youth House of Querceta. "Fund cuts imposed on local government - said Neri - impose a reduction on expenses that become more virtuous but, thanks to the work of the staff of Seravezza Fotografia, the event has nevertheless reached a quality end product. " To confirm this also for 2013 the program has great depth and quality of events such as exhibition of Belgian photographer Bart Herreman entitled "Andifitweretrue" which will open on March 23 in the Palazzo Mediceo, opened for the duration of the event. A collection of eighty photos that include photographs of his reasearch to create a world of fantasy and surrealism: animals and characters are represented in unlikely places and everyday moments. One of the chapters of the photographic research of Bart Herreman is Twiga (giraffe in Swahili), which inspired his book of photographs, Twiga follows him on this path made of visions, travel and worlds on the edge of reality, this chapter will be part of the exhibition along other photographs imaginatively constructed.
The event also includes five exhibitions in Scuderie Granducali adjacent to the Palazzo Mediceo. More will be exhibited at the Museum of Work and Popular Traditions of Historical Versilia, at the Brewery "The House on the river." There will also be workshops, photography courses and meetings about photographic culture and reading portfolio by the FIAF.
The exhibition "Esefossevero" Bart Herreman will be open from March 23 to June 9, 2013 in the Palazzo Mediceo Seravezza street as the 358, Seravezza (Lu), at the following times: Tuesday to Saturday from 15 to 20 and Sunday 10 am - 12, and hours 15 - 20. The entrance fee is € 6 full and 4 reduced.
